1. Who we are

GymDawg AI is a fitness companion app developed and operated by GymDawg AI Ltd, based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. When this policy says "GymDawg AI," "we," "us," or "our," it means GymDawg AI Ltd. Contact us at support@gymdawgai.com.

2. What we collect

We collect only what the app needs to coach you:

• Account info — name, email address, and password (or social sign-in token)
• Profile and goals — fitness goal, training history, body metrics you enter (height, weight, injury notes)
• Workout logs — exercises, sets, reps, weights, form scores, and session duration
• Recovery logs — muscle soreness, stretch completions, and pain notes you log
• Nutrition logs — meal photos and nutrition data you choose to log (Pro Dawg)
• Voice messages — audio sent to Dawg Chat is transcribed and immediately discarded; we do not retain recordings
• Device and usage info — app version, crash reports, and basic usage analytics (e.g., which features are used)

3. Camera and on-device processing

GymDawg AI uses your phone's camera for exercise form detection, machine identification, body calibration, and meal photo logging. All camera frames and pose detection run entirely on your device. Raw video or photo frames are never transmitted to GymDawg AI servers.

When you use the meal photo feature, the image may be sent to our AI provider (Groq) for food identification. This transmission is encrypted in transit, the image is used only to generate the response, and it is not retained by Groq after processing.

Progress photos you save to track your physical changes over time are stored in a private location that only you can access, using time-limited signed links generated on demand. They are never sent to Groq or any other AI provider, never made public, and never shared with other users.

4. How we use your data

• To provide and personalize your coaching, workout plans, and recovery guidance
• To remember your progress across sessions and devices
• To generate AI responses via our AI provider (Groq); only the minimum needed context is sent
• To process your subscription through the App Store or Google Play
• To send optional notifications (workouts, streaks, reminders) you control in-app
• To improve the app and fix bugs using anonymized crash and usage data

We do not use your data to train external AI models without your consent, and we do not use it for advertising targeting.

5. Third-party services

We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run the app:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and secure file storage (servers in the United States)
• Groq — AI inference for Dawg Chat and meal photo analysis (servers in the United States)
• Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription billing and payment processing
• Expo / React Native — app runtime and over-the-air updates

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policy and data processing agreement. We do not share your identifiable data with any third party beyond what is listed here.

6. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely via Supabase with row-level security policies that prevent any user from accessing another user's data. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. Access to your data is strictly limited to authorized app operations.

7. Your rights

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold on you
• Correction — update inaccurate personal information at any time in the app
• Deletion — delete your account and all associated data from Tune Your Dawg → Delete Account, or by emailing us; we process requests within 30 days
• Data portability — request an export of your workout and recovery history
• Opt-out of analytics — contact us to opt out of anonymized usage analytics

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children

GymDawg AI requires users to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact GymDawg AI Ltd at support@gymdawgai.com.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When changes are material, we will notify you in-app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
